No school transport, no buses and no streetcars in Jena and the Saale-Holzland district
The trade union ver.di has once again called on the employees of Jena's public transport system and JES Verkehrsgesellschaft to take part in a warning strike in local public transport. The strike action has been announced for the period from Wednesday morning, February 28, 3 a.m. to Friday morning, March 1, 3 a.m. and is part of nationwide protest actions.
As a result of the strike, all scheduled streetcar and bus services in the city of Jena and the Saale-Holzland district will be canceled during this period. There will also be no school transport. Passengers are asked to prepare themselves in good time for the service cancellations.
Only bus routes that are operated by subcontractors can be partially covered. As a result, an emergency timetable can be set up at JES Verkehrsgesellschaft, which is available from today (Tuesday, February 27) here. For local public transport in Jena, this applies to the call-and-collect cab journeys shown in the timetable.
Schools in the city of Jena and the Saale-Holzland district will be informed about the strike and the resulting disruptions to local transport services.
The Stadtwerke Jena Customer Center at Saalstraße 8a is also affected by the strike action. For the duration of the strike there will be no ticket sales and no advice on local transport services.
