About us
Jenaer Nahverkehr and JES Verkehrsgesellschaft
We keep Jena and the Saale-Holzland district moving. As an essential part of public services, we offer service-oriented local and regional transport in the shared Jena-Saale-Holzland transport area.

Company profile
Comfortable, climate-conscious and reliable - that's what we stand for as a traditional and future-oriented transport company. With 51 bus and 5 tram lines, we connect the city and district and, with around 500 employees, bring up to 62,000 passengers safely and environmentally friendly to their destination every day.
Sustainability is our aspiration: we are driving forward the switch to environmentally friendly drive systems – two bus routes in Jena are already served by electric buses and we meet the highest standards of climate friendliness, safety, comfort and accessibility with modern trams.
Under the motto „One fare, one ticket, one network“, we are a committed partner in the Mittelthüringen transport association and enable seamless mobility between Gera, Gotha, Jena and Saalfeld. As a company firmly anchored in the region, we rely on trust and responsibility.
Jenaer Nahverkehr is a subsidiary of Stadtwerke Jena and the Saale-Holzland district, and JES Verkehrsgesellschaft is a subsidiary of Jenaer Nahverkehr.
