Jena-Nord: Full closure extended until the end of the summer vacation

The construction work in Jena-Nord still requires a full closure of Naumburger Strasse in the area between Altenburger Strasse and Zitzmannstrasse until the end of the summer vacation on July 31. This measure is necessary to ensure a smooth construction process. As a result, the buses of the rail replacement service (SEV line E) will continue to run an alternative route.

The Stifterstra&l;e stop is still unavailable and the Altenburger Stra&l;e replacement stop cannot be reached. Passengers are requested to use the Merseburger Straße stop instead.

Background information: In autumn 2023, Jena's local transport authority began extensive construction work in Jena-Nord on Naumburger Straße to modernize the tram tracks and power supply in order to create a stable and future-proof local transport infrastructure with the streetcar as the backbone of public transport in Jena. However, unforeseen difficulties arose that led to delays in the construction process. The construction schedule, which has been adapted to all the new challenges that have arisen, provides for the construction work to end on July 31, 2024.
