Thuringia's first municipal electromobility manager comes from Jena. Dennis Beyermann from Stadtwerke Energie Jena-Pößneck received his certificate as a consultant for municipal electric mobility solutions in the Free State of Thuringia this week. The 40-year-old was trained by the eMobile Academy in cooperation with DEKRA. The course was offered for the first time in 2023.
As a municipal electromobility manager, Dennis Beyermann will drive forward the mobility transition throughout Thuringia on behalf of Stadtwerke Energie and, together with his colleagues, develop concepts for authorities, businesses and housing associations to expand the charging infrastructure. „Many local authorities are still reluctant to expand charging infrastructure for electric vehicles because this requires knowledge in various areas. In addition to technical aspects, there are also legal, structural and economic backgrounds to consider," says Dennis Beyermann. Although there are experts for each sub-area, hardly anyone has an overview of the big picture. The training he has completed now enables him to advise local authorities comprehensively on all relevant aspects of expanding the charging infrastructure.
In its supply area, Stadtwerke Energie has been committed to expanding the charging infrastructure since 2011. To date, the company has put 370 public, private and commercial charging points into operation in Jena and the region. In order to promote electromobility throughout Germany, the German government plans to train up to 30 municipal electromobility managers in Germany over the next few years.
The innovative training course was financed by Stadtwerke Energie, whose aim is to actively enable all its employees to gain qualifications and build up skills. „I am very grateful to Stadtwerke Energie for making this course possible for me. The course was very good in terms of content and gave me a lot of new insights despite my years of experience. There were many application examples, and it was also very valuable that the participants came from both practical and regulatory backgrounds, which resulted in a valuable exchange“, says Dennis Beyermann.
