False municipal utility companies want to change electricity contract

Numerous unsettled customers, primarily from the Jena East area, have been contacting Stadtwerke Energie's customer service since today. The reason is dubious door-to-door visits in which two men claim to be signing a new electricity contract on behalf of Stadtwerke Energie.
Stadtwerke Energie expressly emphasizes that the persons are neither its own employees nor employees of a contracted company and asks for caution when doing business at home.

With just one signature, the existing contract can be unintentionally terminated and a contract concluded with another provider. Customer visits are always announced in writing and employees identify themselves by means of a company ID card.
