Free swimming fun for children: outdoor pool campaign in Jena enters its third round

The summer vacations are just around the corner and now it's certain: this year, all children up to the age of 14 can once again visit Jena's open-air swimming pools free of charge. The free admission is made possible by a joint campaign of the Jenaer Bäder with major sponsors such as Carl Zeiss AG, the Lions Club Jena „Paradies“, Stadtwerke Energie Jena-Pößneck GmbH and Langnese. 

„Above all, it was a great concern of the Bäderbeirat to enable free admission for children during the summer vacations again this year. I am therefore very grateful to all the sponsors for their support in making this campaign a success once again. With this offer, we want to give children the opportunity to spend their vacations in an active and varied way. I am particularly pleased that the campaign is in great demand from families and after-school clubs“ says Benjamin Koppe, head of the sports department and chairman of the advisory board.

During the last two summers, children have already been able to visit the two outdoor pools free of charge thanks to sponsorship. The vacation offer was very well received. Susan Zetzmann, Managing Director of the Jenaer Bäder says: "After the positive experiences of the past two years, we are delighted to be able to offer children free admission again together with new partners. We hope that free admission will be at the top of vacation excursion lists. We and our Bäder team extend a warm welcome to every guest who visits our wonderful Freibäder.“

Visitor information: Both outdoor areas are open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the vacations. A ticket for children is also required for free admission. Tickets are available at the outdoor pool ticket offices or in advance as an online ticket. 
 

The important information at a glance

•    Children up to the age of 14 can visit the Ostbad at the foot of the Jenzig and the Südbad in the middle of paradise free of charge

•    Freibäder öffnen open daily from 9 am to 8 pm during the summer vacations.
