New Year's swimming in the Südbad Jena

Invitation to the 4th New Year's swim in Jena's Südbad 

The most daring cold-water heroes and hardiest water rats are cordially invited to take part in the fourth New Year's swim in Jena's Südbad. After a three-year break, on January 1, 2024, between 1 and 3 p.m., they will once again have the opportunity to brave the cold and wet together and start the new year refreshed.

This time, participants can expect not only unique refreshment, but also a touch of wellness. After diving into Lake Schleicher, a mobile sauna and shower containers with hot water will be available for the necessary warm-up. Here, swimmers can bring their chilled bodies back up to the right temperature. And to replenish their energy reserves, there will be hot soup and warming drinks as well as grilled sausages.

The New Year's swim organized by Jenaer Bäder- und Freizeitgesellschaft at Jenaer Südbad is definitely one of the „coolest“ events in the new year. Admission is free and everyone is cordially invited to experience this unusual start to 2024. So pack your swimming trunks and bikinis or even a fanciful swimming costume when it's time to dive into the cold waters on New Year's Day.
